Garden Grants
The Burlington Area Garden Club is pleased to announce Garden Grants are available to support local gardening programs in Southeast Wisconsin. Award recipients will receive money for the purchase of gardening materials and supplies specific to the needs of their program.

Garden Grant Program Criteria
Burlington Area Garden Club grants for schools and community organizations in Southeast Wisconsin with child- or adult-centered gardening programs. In evaluating grant applications, priority will be given to programs that emphasize one or more of these elements:
- educational focus and/or curricular ties (if applicant is a formal education program)
- nutrition or plant-to-food connections
- environmental awareness/education
- social aspects of gardening such as leadership development, team building, community support, or service-learning.
Who Should Apply
Schools, preschools, youth groups, community centers, camps, clubs, treatment facilities, and intergenerational groups throughout the Burlington/Waterford, WI area are eligible. Areas include Kenosha and Racine County (west of I-94) or Walworth County (east of I-43). Applicants must plan to complete gardening project within 3 months of receiving funds.

Grant Preparation
Applicants should demonstrate a plan that emphasizes children/adults learning and working in an outdoor or indoor gardening project. Areas considered include educational, environmental, or social programming; leadership; community support; sustainability; innovation; and need. Please read through the entire application before you begin. Answer as many of the questions that are applicable for your project.
Award Fulfillment
We will notify you about the status of your application via email or U.S. mail. Grants will continue to be awarded until funding is depleted.
Grant awardees will be required to submit to the Burlington Area Garden Club a final report on their project (pictures appreciated). Programs that do not complete the final report will not be eligible to apply for future awards.

- St. Charles School for their community Prayer Garden
- Lincoln Lutheran Chestnut Club for the garden in front of their building
- Pine Brooke Pointe Assisted Living for their courtyard flower and vegetable garden
- Burlington Methodist Church for a new church/community vegetable garden
- Burlington Area Girl Scouts for several new rain gardens they plan to create
- Cabin Garden and Harvest of Hope for maintenance and upkeep of these gardens
